Farmers’ Markets are a great place to get nutritious healthy foods! Did you know that MyPyramid, the USDA’s food nutrition guide has been changed? Who knew! MyPyramid is now MyPlate Food Pyramid! These new guidelines were released June 2011! In 2005, MyPyramid, replaced the nutrition guidance followed under the 1992 standards of the Food Pyramid. The USDA says that “MyPlate is designed to remind Americans to eat healthfully; it is not intended to change consumer behavior alone. My Plate illustrates the five food groups using a familiar mealtime visual, a place setting.” There is even a “MyPyramid” for preschoolers and kids!
